Why does LUVI block nudity and sexual images of real people?

LUVI blocks nudity, sexual content and any request to undress or sexualise a real person, because such images are widely used for harassment and blackmail. Checks are automatic; a person reviews every appeal and replies within 30 business days.

LUVI is a creative tool, not an adult platform. We don't allow nudity or sexual content, and we never allow a photo of a real person to be used to undress them, sexualise them or put them into sexual content.

What we block

  • Uploads that contain nudity or sexual content.
  • Requests to remove a person's clothes in a photo, show them nude or in a sexual situation, or put their face onto a nude body or into sexual footage.
  • Any content that sexualises someone who is, or looks, under 18.
  • Results that contain nudity or sexual content, even when the request looked ordinary.

These rules are in sections 6 and 6A of our Terms of Use.

Why we are strict about this

Law enforcement agencies describe the same pattern again and again:

  • In June 2023 the FBI warned that criminals take ordinary photos, usually from social media, and turn them into explicit images that look real. The images are used to harass victims or to blackmail them for money or more images ("sextortion"). Victims have included children, and many only found out their photos had been altered when someone else told them. Once such images circulate, getting them removed can be extremely difficult.
  • INTERPOL's 2024 report on synthetic media names non-consensual explicit content as a serious concern: it can be made without the person knowing and used for harassment, blackmail and serious damage to their reputation. The report cites an investigation into photos of young girls whose clothing had been altered with AI and then shared.
  • According to Europol's 2026 threat assessment, AI-generated child sexual abuse material is on the rise. Some of it is made by altering existing images with image-to-image models, the same kind of editing tool LUVI offers, and offenders swap ready-made prompts and tips to get past content moderation. In 2025 an international operation against a platform that sold such material by subscription identified 273 suspects and led to 25 arrests.

Editing a photo and putting a face into a scene is exactly what LUVI lets you do. We check uploads and requests so these tools can't be used this way.

How the check works

Uploaded images, generation requests that use an image, and generated images are checked by automated tools before anyone can use them. When something is blocked, the message tells you what was restricted, which rule it breaks, that the decision was automated, and how to appeal. We don't publish how the check decides, so it can't be gamed. The Privacy Notice lists the services that run it.

What happens when something is blocked

  • A blocked file isn't added to your library.
  • A blocked request doesn't start, and no credits are used.
  • If a result is blocked after the model has run, you won't see it. The generation is still charged, because the model provider has already charged us for it (Terms of Use, section 4.3).
  • The first violation is recorded on your account as a warning. After a second one, a person reviews the account and may close it. We never close an account automatically.
  • Content that may sexualise a minor is kept in a store only authorised staff can access and is reported to the authorities: in Türkiye to the Presidential Communication Centre (CİMER) and the police, and elsewhere to the authority responsible in that country.
  • We keep refused content and the records of each refusal for up to one year, to handle appeals, complaints and requests from the authorities.

Blocked by mistake?

Automatic checks sometimes get it wrong: a swimwear shoot or a classical painting can be misread. If you think we made a mistake, press Blocked by mistake? on the message, or write to abuse@luvicreator.com. A person on our team reviews every appeal and replies by email within 30 business days. If we got it wrong, we reverse the decision and remove the violation from your account.

If your account was closed and you believe that was a mistake, write to the same address.

If someone has made images of you

  • If you believe someone used LUVI to make images of you, write to abuse@luvicreator.com with anything you know. We'll look into it and remove them.
  • If explicit images of you from when you were under 18 are being shared, NCMEC's Take It Down service can help: takeitdown.ncmec.org.
  • If someone is blackmailing you, the FBI's advice is not to pay: paying doesn't guarantee the images won't be shared. Keep every message and report it to the police. In the US you can also report it at ic3.gov.

Frequently asked

Can I upload swimwear or underwear photos?

Usually yes. Swimwear and underwear are not blocked on their own; nudity and sexual content are. If the check gets one wrong, press "Blocked by mistake?" and a person will look at it.

Am I charged when something is blocked?

Not for an upload or a request that is refused before it starts. A result blocked after the model has run is charged, because the model provider has already charged us for it.

Will my account be closed automatically?

No. The first violation is recorded as a warning. After a second one, a person reviews the account and decides; nothing is closed by the automatic check alone.
